Yogi Baba Prem (Tom Beal) is a Vedic teacher, author, and practitioner, and founder of Universal Yoga Inc. His work integrates Jyotish (Vedic astrology), yoga, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, and broader Vedic philosophy, rooted in the traditional Hindu and dharmic framework. He is one of the few Westerners to receive the title of Vedakovid (comprehensive knowledge of the Vedas) and Veda Visharada through the traditional gurukula system, along with formal recognition as a Yogacharya and Master Vedic Counselor in the Integral Vedic Counseling tradition. Practice spans over 30 years. His primary Vedic teacher is Vedacharya Vamadeva Shastri (Dr. David Frawley), who has described Baba Prem as one of the best-trained and most articulate spokesmen of Hindu Dharma born in the West.
