Jeffrey Armstrong (spiritual name Kavindra Rishi) is a Vedic astrologer, Sanskrit-trained scholar, poet, author, and teacher based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Born in Detroit in 1947, he is among the early pioneers of Vedic Astrology in North America, with over 45 years of consultation experience. He holds degrees in Psychology, History and Comparative Religion, and Literature, spent five years in an ashram as a brahmachari (monk), and later spent ten years as a motivational speaker and seven years as a Silicon Valley executive before dedicating his life fully to Vedic teaching. He began studying Vedic astrology with M.K. Gandhi in 1973 after seven years as a Western astrologer. He is the founder of VASA (Vedic Academy of Sciences and Arts), an online learning academy offering courses in Vedic astrology, yoga philosophy, Bhagavad Gita studies, and Sanskrit wisdom. He holds the titles Jyotish Visharada and Jyotish Kovid from CVA (Council of Vedic Astrology), is a member of ACVA, and co-chairs the Vedic Friends Association (VFA). He is a recognized Distinguished Indologist (ICCR, 2021) and recipient of the CHCC Lifetime Achievement Award (2022).
