Barbara Dunn (BA Hons, MA, DF Astrol S, QHP, FAPAI, PhD) is a traditional and horary astrologer, author, and educator based in Weymouth, Dorset, England. Prior to her astrological career she was a postgraduate at the London School of Economics, supported by a Social Science Research Council scholarship. She received the Faculty of Astrological Studies Diploma in 1988 and the Qualifying Horary Practitioner (QHP) in 1990. She subsequently taught alongside QHP founder Olivia Barclay and was appointed QHP Head Tutor, inheriting the QHP from Barclay upon her death in 2001. She continues to teach and mentor QHP students worldwide as Principal. A grant from the Urania Trust supported the writing of her book Horary Astrology Re-Examined: The Possibility or Impossibility of the Matter Propounded (Wessex Astrologer, 2009), recommended by Robert Hand for all serious students. A further Urania Trust grant supported an MA in History at the University of Exeter (graduated with distinction, 2016). A Wellcome Trust doctoral studentship funded a PhD in the History of Medicine examining the use of astrology in seventeenth-century medical practice, completed in 2021. A monograph on early modern medical astrology (c. 1580-1700) is in preparation for Springer. Consultations cover personal relationships, business, electional, and horary astrology. Sessions are available by telephone and online.
