Edgar John Winter was born in Singapore in 1937 and came to Australia after his family escaped the WWII invasion in 1941, later settling in Melbourne. He holds a degree in Biofeedback Stress Therapy from Denver, Colorado. His astrological journey began in New York in 1982 through new age and awareness groups. He trained in Astro*Carto*Graphy with its founder Jim Lewis in San Francisco, earning certification in the system. He previously operated three Get Inspired shops in Sydney housing astrology, palmistry, and tarot readers, and contributed to a Sydney radio talkback show alongside the president of the Herbalist Association of Australia.
