Gael Chilson began studying astrology in 1969 through Dane Rudhyar's The Astrology of Personality and has practiced continuously since. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Northern Arizona University and became certified as a Shamanic Astrologer under the direct mentorship of Daniel Giamario, founder of the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School (now the Turning of the Ages Mystery School), becoming only the third person to complete his official certification process. She has taught night sky classes in the Sahuarita and Tucson community since 1997, facilitated beginner astrology classes for the Tucson Astrologers' Guild, and served as a past President of that organisation. Her practice emphasises solstices, equinoxes, lunar standstills, and direct observation of celestial events as living context for chart work, bringing a ceremonial and earth-based dimension that distinguishes it from mainstream Western practice. She has authored a series of articles on astrological themes published on her website.
