Kathy Allan came to astrology from an academic scientific background, holding a PhD in Molecular Toxicology and a post-doctoral background in Infectious Immunology. After encountering astrology later in life, she spent years in self-directed study before finding live teachers and joining astrology groups in South Florida, including the South Florida Astrological Association and the NCGR South Florida chapter. She was certified at the Professional Level by the American Federation of Astrologers in May 2010. Her research into the lunar nodes led to a correction of what she identified as a century-old reversal in North and South Node meanings. She has written articles for The Mountain Astrologer and the NCGR Geocosmic Journal, and won an American Federation of Astrologers writing contest. Her book on the lunar nodes was reviewed in The Mountain Astrologer.
