Kevin D. Raphael Fitch, known as Raphael, is a consultant astrologer, author, T'ai Chi master, and performing artist originally from Mount Vernon, New York. He began his astrological studies in 1979 at an African-based cultural institute and was mentored by practitioners rooted in the Brotherhood of Light (Church of Light) tradition. He went on to study under Larry Wilson, who had connections to Neil F. Michelsen (developer of The American Ephemeris), and Richard Small, who taught the fundamentals of Uranian Astrology, building a strong foundation in natal, horary, and Uranian techniques. He holds an NCGR-PAA Level 1 certification (passed 1995). Raphael operated the Pelham School of Astrology in New York and has taught astrology at Westchester Community College and through virtual universities. He has lectured internationally, including presentations in Ghana and Johannesburg. He founded Spirit of Brotherhood Publications and is the author of Celestial Configurations of Africa and the Caribbean (2012), described by astrologer Judith Hill as a master work of unparalleled breadth and by author-astrologer John Townley as the definitive book on the astrology of African nations. A second edition retitled Astrology of the United States of Africa is forthcoming in 2026.
