Laura Barat is a Vedic astrologer and author practicing with the Tropical Zodiac within the Vedic tradition. Interest in astrology began in 1997 while living in Los Angeles, sparked by her study of Kriya Yoga and a recommendation to understand planetary influences. Early study was drawn to ancient Sanskrit texts including Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra and Saravali, followed by professional training at the American College of Vedic Astrology under primary mentor Ernst Wilhelm. From him she learned Vedic Astrology with the Tropical Zodiac, Parasara and Jaimini techniques, and a wide range of predictive methods. Planetary remedials - particularly mantras - form an important part of the practice. Laura is a published author of several books and e-books on Vedic predictive techniques, and teaches online courses on Jaimini Astrology, solar returns, and related subjects. Her practice also encompasses the Cards of Truth divination system.
