Laura Barat's interest in astrology began in 1997 in Los Angeles, prompted by her study of Kriya Yoga. Her early independent study drew on classical Sanskrit texts including Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra and Saravali, followed by formal training at the American College of Vedic Astrology under primary mentor Ernst Wilhelm, from whom she learned Vedic Astrology with the Tropical Zodiac, Parasara and Jaimini techniques, and a wide range of predictive methods. She also trained at Dirah Academy International, where she became a regional teacher of Vedic Astrology. She has also studied independently under the Huber astrological psychology approach and incorporates hatha yoga and chakra-based remedials alongside traditional Jaimini and Parasara planetary remedies. Laura is a published author of several books and e-books on Vedic predictive techniques including works on Grahas as Karakas, Nakshatras and Tara Bala, Shadbala, and Vedic relationship astrology. She teaches online courses on Jaimini astrology, solar returns, and related subjects through her website. Her practice also encompasses the Cards of Truth divination system.
