Maurice Fernandez was born in Africa and moved to Israel as a teenager, where he was first introduced to professional astrology at age 18. He subsequently studied Evolutionary Astrology with Jeffrey Green throughout the 1990s and was certified as an evolutionary astrologer in 1992 and 1996. He is also a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher (2007) and is OPA certified as a professional practitioner (2013) and a moderator for the OPA Peer Group process.

Since relocating to the United States in 2003, Maurice built a worldwide network as an author, teacher, consultant, and conference organizer. He founded and organized the River of Stars Astrology Conference in Hawaii (2011 to 2015) and the I-ASTROLOGER conference (2016, 2018, and 2022), a critically acclaimed event supporting professional astrology development through OPA. He served as President of OPA for three terms (2014 to 2020) and on the board of directors for 12 years (2010 to 2022). During his tenure, OPA membership quadrupled and satellite centers were established in 13 countries.

Maurice has published two major astrology books: Neptune, the 12th House, and Pisces (second edition 2018) and Astrology and the Evolution of Consciousness, Volume One. He also contributed chapters to Transpersonal Astrology (compiled by Armand Diaz) and New Generation (compiled by Frank Clifford). He has been interviewed by The Mountain Astrologer and the UK Astrology Journal, and lectures widely at major international conferences including NORWAC and UAC.

He currently resides in Arizona, having previously spent seven years in Hawaii. He also maintains a long-term connection with the White Lions of Timbavati in South Africa, where he has worked for over 17 years on inter-species communication and conservation.
