Mj Patterson holds a CA NCGR-PAA credential (Level 4), equivalent to a four-year university degree in astrology, covering mathematics, astrophysics, celestial astronomy, Vedic, Sidereal, and Uranian techniques. She began studying astrology in 1978 and has been a professional practitioner since 1987. She holds a Masters in Educational Psychology alongside degrees in languages, computing science, and mathematics. Mj is a founding Director of the Atlantic Professional Astrologers' Association (APAA) and a former Research Director of the NCGR. She is a member of OPA, ISAR, and the Association of Professional Astrologers International. She is a graduate of the STA Horary Astrology course. She held executive posts with the Ottawa Astrological Society and co-founded the Astrologers' Registry of Ontario. She correctly predicted the Hamm majority government in Nova Scotia against all polls, earning mention in the official provincial legislature record (Hansards, 1999). She is the Director of the Halifax Astrology School, offering competency-based professional-level training. She lectures internationally, including at UAC, and has taught in Buffalo, Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, London, Brighton, France, India, and Australia. She hosts The Astrology Show on CKDU 88.1 FM in Halifax. She is a sponsoring organisation for the Institute of Vedic Culture Astrology Conference in Kolkata, India.
