Nick Campion graduated from Queens' College, Cambridge with a degree in History, and later took postgraduate courses in politics and international relations at SOAS, University of London. He obtained his PhD from the University of the West of England in 2004, titled 'Prophecy, Cosmology, and the New Age Movement: the extent and nature of contemporary belief in astrology.' He became a professional astrologer in 1975 and built his early reputation as an expert in mundane astrology. He served as President of the Astrological Association of Great Britain in 1994, and won the 1992 Marc Edmund Jones Award for The Book of World Horoscopes. He co-authored Mundane Astrology with Charles Harvey and Michael Baigent. He was for many years a columnist for the Daily Mail. He is currently Programme Director of the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, as well as Director of the Sophia Centre and the Harmony Institute. He founded the peer-reviewed journal Culture and Cosmos in 1997. His major books include The Great Year (Penguin, 1994), The History of Western Astrology Vol. I and II (Bloomsbury, 2008/2009), Astrology and Cosmology in the World's Religions (New York University Press, 2012), and The New Age in the Modern West (Routledge, 2015). He has taught at Kepler College and lectured widely across the UK, Europe, and internationally.
