Philip Sedgwick began studying astrology in 1969 while serving in the U.S. Navy, deployed in two far-eastern tours. He conducted his first client session in 1975 and became a full-time professional astrologer in 1981. In 1976 a reference to the Galactic Center by the late Joyce Werhman set him on a decades-long research path into deep space astrology. He has investigated astrological signatures of aviation disasters, the effects of galactic phenomena, and is a recognised authority on Comet Halley. He created a Galactic Ephemeris of over 8,700 deep space objects, a galactic add-on (Galastro) for Solar Fire software, and a Galactic interpretive report for Kepler/Pegasus software. He has lectured at United Astrology Congresses and American Federation of Astrologers conventions, and at conferences for ISAR, NCGR, NORWAC, and internationally including Australia. He was staff astrologer for The Morning Exchange on WEWS (ABC affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio) and wrote the Space Scopes column for the Science Fiction Channel online from 1998 to 2001. He has also written for StarIQ.com, MediaVillage.com, and the America West Airlines Magazine. His research extends into parapsychology, paranormal photography, and Centaur and Trans-Neptunian Objects. He is known for witty and engaging presentations, having performed astrological comedy shows at UAC and ISAR.
