Sue Ward began her astrological studies in the early 1980s under the late Kay Way, and also studied with the Faculty of Astrological Studies of Great Britain. She trained directly under Olivia Barclay, the astrologer widely credited with reviving traditional horary astrology in the twentieth century, and gained her Qualified Horary Practitioner diploma from Barclay's school in 1987. She later completed a degree in history, which informs her ongoing archival research into William Lilly's manuscripts through the William Lilly Project, examining his private client casework including horary questions and nativities. She has lectured throughout the UK and Europe and published widely in astrological magazines and journals. Since the 1990s she has also worked on cold cases involving abduction and murder using horary methods, sharing findings with police contacts in the United States. She has authored several books, including Sue Ward's Traditional Horary Course, Horary Astrology, Abduction & Murder, and William Lilly the Astrologer: A Book of Sources (with Luis Ribeiro). She continues to teach the Traditional Horary Course, along with courses on mundane astrology, electional astrology, and a Murder Mystery course applying horary technique to historical and unsolved cases.
