Wendy Stacey is one of the most prominent and widely respected astrologers in the UK, with a professional career spanning nearly four decades. Born in Invercargill, New Zealand, of Maori and English descent, she began formal astrological study in 1987 with the Christchurch School of Astrological Studies and was recruited as the school's youngest teacher at age 22. She holds a BA in Social Sciences and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath Spa University College (2003, first cohort), and a Diploma from the London School of Astrology (LSA), where she subsequently taught for 14 years. She is a Fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers International (FAPAI). Since 2007 she has been Principal of the Mayo School of Astrology, the internationally renowned UK distance-learning school founded in 1973, leading its transition to online learning in 2008. From 2002 to 2025 she served as Chairperson of the Astrological Association (UK); she became its President in 2025. She tutors on the MA Cultural Astronomy and Astrology programme at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Research specialities include medical astrology, mundane astrology, and the medicalisation of childbirth and changing birth time patterns. In 2014 she received the UK's Charles Harvey Award for Exceptional Service to Astrology. She has authored or co-authored multiple books, contributed to over 50 articles for the Astrological Journal, and has been featured in international print, radio and television media.
