Aswin Subramanyan is an astrologer, author, and teacher born and raised in Chennai, India, with an astrological lineage of over 350 years through maternal heritage. Astrological foundation lies in Jyotisa, shaped by familial methods passed down through generations; formal Jyotisa study began in 2011, with expansion into Hellenistic and Medieval Persian astrology from 2017. Earliest mentor was maternal granduncle Shri G. Gurumoorthy Iyer, who introduced traditional predictive techniques. Formal qualifications include a Diploma in Traditional Natal Predictive Astrology from Sharon Knight's school and an M.A. in Indian Astrology from Yoga Samskrutam University; a PhD in Astrology is currently in progress. Aswin is the author of Firdaria - Periods of Life and co-author of Astrology by Moonlight. He serves on the council of the Association of Professional Astrologers International (APAI), edits its quarterly journal The APAI Chronycle, and is a Board Member of CAPISAR. He teaches the Diploma in Indian Astrology through Cosmic Lineage Academy (APAI-recognised) and is a faculty member at Kepler College and AstroCollege (Australia).
