Aswin Subramanyan was born and raised in Chennai, India, into an astrological lineage passed down through maternal heritage. His earliest mentor was his maternal granduncle, Shri G. Gurumoorthy Iyer, who introduced him to traditional Jyotisa predictive techniques. Formal Jyotisa study began in 2011, expanding into Hellenistic and Medieval Persian astrology from 2017. He holds a Diploma in Traditional Natal Predictive Astrology from Sharon Knight's school and an M.A. in Indian Astrology from Yoga Samskrutam University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Astrology. He serves on the council of the Association of Professional Astrologers International, edits its quarterly journal The APAI Chronycle, and is a Board Member of CAPISAR. He is also a Council Member of the Association for Young Astrologers, teaches the Diploma in Indian Astrology through Cosmic Lineage Academy, and is a faculty member at Kepler College and AstroCollege Australia.
