Babs Kirby gained her Diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies in 1984 and went on to become its Vice President, directing the Faculty's two-year Counselling within Astrology course and teaching there for twelve years. She holds an MA in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies from the University of Essex, with a dissertation on Jung's View of Astrology. Her professional background includes 30 years of private practice as an integrative psychotherapist, from which she retired in 2011. She is a founder member and fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers International (APAI), a trustee of The Urania Trust, and was appointed to the Advisory Board of the NCGR in 2001. She holds the DFAstrolS diploma and the honorary designation Hon RCAstrol (Honorary Member of the Royal College of Astrologers). She has lectured extensively at national and international astrology conferences and offered workshops combining astrology with humanistic and transpersonal psychology in the UK and abroad.
