Carol Lavoie holds a Master's degree in Special Education from New York University and is a Certified Astrologer at NCGR Level IV Counseling. Her spiritual path began in 1965 through the anthroposophical works of Rudolf Steiner, followed by studies with Chinese herbalist Michael Tierra, herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, and health food innovators Aveline and Michio Kushi in northern California in the late 1960s. She has studied herbology, homeopathy, diet and nutrition, and other alternative health systems at Bridgeport University and the Caduceus Institute, accumulating over 40 years of study in this area. She has also worked professionally as a hypnotherapist and tarot card consultant. Together with her husband Alphee Lavoie she co-leads the Astrological Institute of Research (AIR) and AIR Software, and she is head of Alphee's Astrology Online School. She contributed to the NCGR publication Essentials of Intermediate Astrology.
