Joni Patry began studying Western astrology in the early years of her practice and transitioned fully to Vedic astrology after 20 years, finding the sidereal system more astronomically accurate for prediction. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She founded the University of Vedic Astrology, a fully online certification school for Jyotish, and has served as faculty and instructor for both ACVA (American Council of Vedic Astrology) and CVA (Council of Vedic Astrology) certification programmes. She was Vedic track coordinator for UAC 2018, recipient of the 2015 Jyotish Star of the Year award, and received the Dr. B.V. Raman Janma Shatamanothsava Award Jyotisha Choodamani. She has authored more than 14 books, publishes a monthly Astrology Insights Magazine, and has a YouTube channel with over 50 million total views. She has been featured on national and international television, lectured as keynote speaker at major conferences worldwide, and has a Japanese-language website. She also founded a spiritual jewellery line and runs an active Patreon community.
