Joseph Crane is an astrologer, author, teacher, and founder of the Astrology Institute, based in Rhode Island. The Astrology Institute was established in 1991 and has certified over 100 graduates through its training programs in astrology skills and consulting. Academic background includes a BA in philosophy from Brandeis University and an MA in counseling psychology, with additional training in gestalt therapy and existential psychotherapy. Joseph has been involved with Kepler College since 2006, teaching courses in mythology, ancient astrology, and philosophy. His astrological work spans traditional, Hellenistic, modern, psychological, and spiritual approaches, and also includes horary and electional techniques. He has worked with hundreds of clients and has also served as a neurofeedback clinician and therapist. A Buddhist practitioner in the Tibetan tradition since 1980, he has also applied astrology in the context of addiction recovery counseling. He is the author of four books on traditional and Hellenistic astrology, Dante's Divine Comedy, and astrological approaches to biography.
