Laura Boomer-Trent, known by her avatar Astro Dakini, is a French-born spiritual astrologer who began her career in arts, film, and television before turning to astrology full time. She was an early pioneer of modern Spiritual Astrology in the UK and studied at His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama's Tibetan Medical and Astro Science Institute in Dharamsala, India in 1996-97, integrating Tibetan, Chinese, and Indian astrological traditions with Western psychological and esoteric astrology. Her heart guru was the late Kalachakra Master, Lama Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche, who guided the spiritual and global dimension of her practice. She has lectured at the Theosophical Society, the Astrological Lodge of London, the Astrological Association of Great Britain, and the Cosmic Intelligence Agency in Australia, and has been thrice invited to the Krishnamurti Institute for Astrology and Vedic Cultural Wellbeing in Kolkata, India. She is listed as Agent Dakini #87 at the Cosmic Intelligence Agency, an international astrology collective, and is associated with the Astrological Association of Great Britain. Her past media work includes creating Channel 4's Astrology Show in 1990, serving as BBC astrologer for three years in the early 1990s, fronting Sky and Star TV Tarot Line in the mid-1990s, and editorial work with World Interactive Television from 1998 to 2001.
